I’m not a person who labeled myself as a Christian. But sadly in this “free” country there’s a lot of people pretending and playing the game of Christianity, which they dress and act a certain way to be featured in the eyes of mankind. They go to church every Sunday, they go to prayer meetings and all that. But one thing is for certain, when they leave church, are they going to behave like Jesus or they’re behave like maniacs? One of these examples is when Fox News included an Atheist as a guest to voice his opinion that a cross should be removed from the World Trade Center Memorial, many people started voicing “Death Threats” to this individual. Here’s the real examples:
“I kill them all and let them see for themselves that there is God”
“Shoot them, shoot to kill”
“They’re Atheist, so it won’t matter if you kill them”
“Stupid Atheist, I hope he hills them all”
I felt very ashamed after reading part of these comments. I asked myself, “Are these people real?” Have they ever had a Bible and start reading and apply it to their lives? There’s a lot of meanings between being a Christian and Following the teachings of Jesus Christ. One point of following Jesus Christ is to respect others. Can you read Matthew 19:19: Honor your mother and father and love your neighbor as yourself. Seriously, in this planet earth, if you don’t respect your neighbor, your co-worker and even a stranger don’t even come on knocking on heaven’s door and being treated like royalty. Another thing is avoiding judging others. Matthew 7:1-6: Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. Jesus truly hates hypocrites even talking behind their backs, even on Social Media not only inside the church. Following Christ, requires a lot of sacrifices and a lot of will to walk in HIS shoes. Sometimes is a personal battle. But if you do what is required, God will reward you.
Finally, this is one of the requirements of Following Christ 1 Corinthians 13:1: If I speak in the tonguesof men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. Love, NOT Hate, NOT Bigotry, NOT Judging Others and NOT Acting like a Pharisee. Love is the key that makes you feel that Jesus is here with you. Love yourself, Love your neighbor, that includes people with other beliefs, races, languages, even Atheist, Muslims, Wiccans. One of the meanings of love is respect. If you don’t have these qualities, you’re out of sync like a bad gong or cymbal.
Remember, think what would Jesus Do? And NOT what you would do. IT makes Following Christ a bad name for people who wants to know HIM.
